Brazilian Network of Women Scientists

More than 600,000 Brazilians died as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. As the national and international community is aware, a significant part of these deaths was caused by the Federal Government's decision to defy science and despise the lives of the Brazilian population, putting at risk those it had a duty to protect.

The worsening of social, economic and psychological conditions resulting from the absence of adequate public policies to contain the disease has frayed the social fabric and thrown thousands of Brazilians to their own fate. The Women Scientists Network was created in order to bring debates and scientific productions, manifestos and initiatives produced by women scientists about/in the context of the pandemic, in addition to offering a support network at a time that was known to be more painful for women. .
