Citizen Diego Lopes created a petition to request a reduction in salaries in light of the coronavirus crisis. According to the author, deputies and senators, who receive many perks in addition to their salaries, such as allowances for expenses, transportation, and housing, should have their salaries cut in half so that investment can be made in combating the Covid-19 pandemic!
The petition had over 420,000 signatures in April, while the Draft Legislative Decree ( PDL 90/2020 ) addressing the issue had fewer than 600 supporting signatures.
