More than 600,000 Brazilians have died as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. As is known to the national and international community, a significant portion of these deaths were caused by the Federal Government's decision to defy science and disregard the lives of the Brazilian population, putting at risk those it had a duty to protect.
The worsening social, economic, and psychological conditions resulting from the absence of adequate public policies to contain the disease have frayed the social fabric and left thousands of Brazilians to fend for themselves. The Network of Women Scientists was created to bring together debates and scientific productions, manifestos, and initiatives produced by women scientists about/in the context of the pandemic, as well as to offer a support network at a time that has been, admittedly, more difficult for women.
