Aprovação do PL 2564/20 na luta das 30 horas e piso salarial digno para enfermagem

The petition was created by citizen Danuzia de Oliveira to pressure senators to approve a minimum wage and a 30-hour work week limit for nursing and nursing technician jobs. According to the author, nurses have been fighting for 20 years for the right to a maximum working time and a dignified minimum wage.

The demand stems from the fact that many professionals are subjected to excessive working hours, considered inhumane by healthcare professionals, with salaries that are not commensurate with the daily reality of saving lives . The author further emphasizes that nurses completed five years of university studies with theoretical and practical classes, while nursing technicians completed two-year courses with an intense workload of both theory and practice.

During the pandemic, the need for these professionals made the reality even more complex. In several countries, such as Italy, they were honored daily with applause from windows during the most critical period of the pandemic, while Brazil does not even have an established minimum wage, making the financial reality very different, even though the daily work is similar.

The online petition has over 320,000 signatures, and the expressions of support for the bills being processed in the Chamber and the Senate (PL 2564/2020 / PL 5640/2020 / PL 2997/2020 / PL 459/2015) total more than 770,000 supporters, in one of the rare cases where expressions of support on official channels exceed those on unofficial channels .
